At Solace Massage Therapy we offer Registered Massage Therapy for people seeking therapeutic or relaxation massage. RMT's provide an accurate assessment, differential diagnosis and prognosis of specific soft tissue and musculoskeletal conditions. A treatment session includes patient history, assessment, manual treatment and remedial exercise.

Erica Ambrose is also happy to provide Northern Thai Massage (aka lazy persons yoga) she has been practicing this modality for 7 years. Thai massage is an interactive form of bodywork. It combines elements of yoga, acupressure, and massage. You remain passive while the practitioner does the movements to you. Through application of pressure on energy lines and points, and passive stretching movements, the body experiences profound relaxation. Thai massage is performed on a mat on the floor with the client comfortably dressed in loose clothing. There are also specific treatments for headaches, back pain, shoulder, arm, or leg pain, and menstruation.

As of Feb 1 2022 in compliance with the change in the CMTBC's scope of practice the therapists feet will no longer be used in treatment. We apologize for the changes this will cause to your regular beneficial treatments.

Erica completed a 3000 hour massage therapy program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria BC in Decemeber 2013. Erica believes in treating the client as a whole rather than just a specific problem, which may have brought them into the clinic in the first place. Erica uses a combination of massage techniques, including light or deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, Myofascial release, Muscle energy techniques, Craniosacral therapy, Joint mobilizations to create a treatment plan specifically tailored to each client. Erica also develops home-care programs designed to fit daily schedules and lifestyles.

Erica’s prior education includes a BA from the University of Saskatchewan and travelling throughout Asia completing Level 4 Northern Thai Massage training at ITM ,and Thai Oil Massage in Chang Mai Thailand. She has completed Dr Vodder’s Manual Lymph Drainage level 1 in Victoria, BC. Erica has been practicing massage for 10 years as an RMT and 15 years through her own studio, which she first started in her native Saskatchewan.

Erica recently received in depth training for assessing and treating the jaw. Many people suffer from symptoms of TMJ dysfunction. Treatments can include massage both outside and inside the mouth to loosen tight jaw muscles. Massage and homecare can help provide relief from these symptoms. Phashan is NOT accepting new patients at this time. If you are NOT a patient of Phashan, please book in with the other lovely therapists, Erica, Carolyn or Haley. Phashan became registered in 2007, completing a three year specialized program at the accredited college, West Coast College of Massage Therapy, in Victoria, BC. She became registered by the CMTBC in October 2007 and in 2008 opened Solace Massage Therapy. As a therapist she has a strong background in fitness and strongly believes in integrating patient education and self-awareness into her treatments resulting in patient self care and long term relief.

Phashan utilizes several techniques depending on the type of treatment, therapeutic, relaxation or both. She integrates swedish techniques, muscle energy, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, joint mobilization, myofascial release, remedial exercise and hydrotherapy. Within a treatment, Phashan develops a treatment plan for the patient incorporating home care and remedial exercises to achieve long term goals.

Phashan provides therapeutic relaxation, deep tissue massage, trigger point, muscle energy, swedish, pre and post-pregnancy and sports massage.

Carolyn Powell, RMT IS ACCEPTING NEW AND CURRENT patients. After enjoying regular massage therapy, and all of its health and wellness benefits for over 2 decades, Carolyn returned to school in 2011. She graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (3000 hour program) in 2013 and fully believes that everyone can enhance their sense of well-being with regular massage therapy. Having worked full-time in an office for many years, she has a keen interest in helping her clients decrease their stress levels, whether they are work or environment related.

Haley Trent, RMT is accepting new and current patients. Haley graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster, BC. With a background in Personal Training, she has always had a passion for health and wellness.

Haley strongly believes in the healing power of massage. She offers Therapeutic Relaxation style treatments which utilize the calming powers of Swedish Massage. Being results-driven, she focuses on enhancing quality of life, sense of well being, decreasing muscle pain and increasing mobility while in the treatment room.

With an extensive passion for travel and seeing new places, massage therapy has been a perfect career fit for helping others and following her traveling dreams. When she is not traveling, you can find her cooking plant-based meals, hanging out with her dog, working out, or riding her motorcycle.
